Collaboration between ISPRM and IISART

Dr. Gery Colombo (President of IISART) and Louise Gorringe (Kenes, representing ISPRM) at the official signing.

The International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (IISART) and the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) are happy to announce their new collaboration. The first joint activities will focus on scientific workshops at international conferences. Additionally, the two societies will provide healthcare professionals from around the globe with online educational materials and courses on advanced technologies in rehabilitation. In the future, several different education campaigns and projects will follow.

Due to clinical evidence of their effectiveness, technologically advanced therapy solutions are experiencing an increase in public demand, awareness, and acceptance. Accordingly, clinical devices are becoming more widespread and diverse. In order for healthcare institutions to be able to comply with the demands and requirements modern therapy brings with it, it is key that the clinical application and integration of these advanced technologies be successful. It is to this purpose that the IISART and the ISPRM have decided to work together – to strengthen healthcare professionals’ knowledge of technologically advanced therapy solutions and to thusly pave the way for successful clinical application and integration.

The ISPRM aims to continuously improve physical and rehabilitation medicine practice and facilitate physical and rehabilitation medicine input in international health organizations. The IISART has dedicated itself to advancing and promoting modern healthcare technology in rehabilitation. The societies are focused on different aspects of rehabilitation. But ultimately, both seek to improve patients’ lives.

5th Anniversary of IISART

IISART is proud to announce that it has celebrated its 5th Anniversary! Since its foundation in 2011, the society has been growing continuously and is following its mission to advance and promote modern healthcare technology in rehabilitation for the benefit of the patient and society at large.

At the occasion of its 6th General Assembly on November 15th, 2016 in Dusseldorf, the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology was able to look back to another successful year of the society. Among other topics, the General Assembly has decided on the approval of new members and is proud to officially welcome YouRehab as a new full member to its society. In addition, the society has appointed new leaders in the conference groups Promotion and Conference. The society is very much looking forward to the highlight of 2017, the first INRS, organized by IISART during the RehabWeek 2017 in London.

Welcome to RehabWeek 2019!

After Zurich, Valencia, and London, RehabWeek 2019 will take place in Toronto, Canada, from June 24 – 28, 2019. The largest and most culturally diverse city in the country, Toronto is the perfect place to unite the most inspiring, innovative, and successful minds in rehabilitation technology. The week-long event brings together different conferences in the field of rehabilitation technology and includes common keynote lectures and other mutually organized sessions such as panel discussions and poster sessions.

This time, we are proud to announce that not only four but five reputable societies will be part of RehabWeek 2019, namely the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society (IFESS), the International Consortium on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR), the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology (IISART), the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) and the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
